Ben Simmons fell just one rebound short of a triple-double to sensationally lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a game one 130-103 blowout victory over the Miami Heat in the NBA Playoffs.

For the Sixers, getting wins in the first two games are going to be extra important, before heading down to South Beach for Games 3 and 4.

Game 2 goes down Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center, with Game 3 taking place Thursday at the American Airlines Arena in South Beach.

The Raptors host Game 2 on Tuesday.

"We understand that we are not favorites", San Antonio's Manu Ginobili said. Every game was decided by less than 10 points. Two power forwards paced the Heat.

Philadelphia took command in the third quarter, in which the Sixers outscored Miami 34-18.

The 76ers' prolific offense was in rare form.

The 76ers shot an extraordinary 64 per cent from behind the three point line with Reddick top-scoring with 28 points, Belinelli 25 points, Saric 20 points and Ilyasova 17 points.

Simmons had 17 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds for the Sixers. Bellinelli and Ilyasova were vital midseason additions for Philadelphia.

Kelly Olynyk scored 26 points off the bench for the sixth-seeded Heat.

Coach Brett Brown said Friday he couldn't even say that Embiid would return in the first round.

The decision to not play Embiid is far from shocking. He recently underwent surgery to fix a broken orbital bone.

No exact timetable was given for his return, but Embiid will wear a protective mask when he returns to the court. Golden State and Philadelphia will look for 2-0 series leads when their playoff matchups resume Monday. As for Simmons, he averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game.
