Tennesse Titans move up in NFL Draft to select LB Rashaan Evans

Cary Erickson | 28 April, 2018, 10:43

Evans is the third former Alabama player taken in this year's draft.

The Titans see Evans giving them flexibility with his instincts, speed and power. Robinson noted Evans blitzed quite a bit at Alabama. It's good they got that additional pick back from the Ravens or they'd really be starved for picks. Look for Rashaan to bring a physical presence to the Titans defense that will be much appreciated as Tennessee looks to improve on their 9-7 season a year ago.

General manager Jon Robinson added linebacker Will Compton in free agency.

Evans is the type of player that could become a potential Pro-Bowler by the time he reaches his prime. Robinson said Evans had a "old soul" feel about him, and seemed like a guy that enjoys football and talking sports.

The 6-foot-3, 234-pound Evans was first-team All-Southeastern Conference as a senior, and he finished his career with 152 tackles and 15 sacks.

The Steelers learned all about the family at a dinner with the brothers and their parents around Virginia Tech's pro day. In doing so, the Bills landed Edmunds, who some considered one of the top linebackers in this draft.

The linebacker says he's completely healthy now.

"It's amusing that people question my speed", Evans said on a conference call. "I promise you that".

The Titans ranked 13th in the National Football League with 328.0 yards allowed and 17th with 22.9 points allowed per game. Vrabel brought in Dean Pees to run his defense as coordinator after the veteran coach had retired from the same position with Baltimore.

41 overall pick from the Raiders in exchange for pick Nos.

When Vince Young went up to say the name of the Tennessee Titans' selection in the second round, he mispronounced the draftee's first name, and the name was an easy one: Harold.
