Villanova wins 2nd national title in 3 years

Final-Four-Michigan-Villanova-Basketball-34 Villanova rips Michigan for second title in three seasons

Villanova briefly claimed that DiVincenzo was hacked, but they ultimately deleted the tweet.

DiVincenzo was on the bench when Kris Jenkins hit the victor at the buzzer to give Villanova the championship against North Carolina. A reporter asked about the tweet on Monday night, just as the 6'5 guard was being honored as the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.

"This is a great part of life", he added.

He's still a young guy, but it's clear he's maturing from a persona and a front that probably got a lot of laughs in high school.

It's a challenge to dislike how Villanova and MI are built. After heavy doses of the National Player of the Year, senior point guard Jalen Brunson doing some work close to the rim, the Wildcats received a plentiful boost from the Big East's sixth man of the year, Donte DiVincenzo.

When shots wouldn't fall and the offense stalled, the Wildcats put the championship game in DiVincenzo's hands. "It was an incredible performance. That lets you know how great of a team you are", James said. Tonight we needed 31.

What DiVincenzo brought Monday night was the highest scoring game for any single player against MI this season and the most points ever in an NCAA championship game by a non-starter.

But now, there is one coach that stands above that pantheon and most probably secured his place in Springfield, Massachusetts, in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and that's Villanova coach Jay Wright. Beilein kept coaching until the end, prizing each minute and every chance to teach.

Yasmani Grandal to bat fourth for Dodgers on Sunday
After losing the first two games 1-0, the Dodgers turned the tables with two shutouts of their own and scored a combined 14 runs. The San Francisco Giants are off on Monday but will have their home opener on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners.

In 2013, MI head coach John Beilein walked off the court in Atlanta in defeat, falling to Louisville and then-head coach Rick Pitino 82-76.

"We said to each other after that, we need to get back", DiVincenzo said.

I mean, they won the championship and all, but what could this season have been if they'd been healthy all year?

There may not be a better college basketball coach in the nation right now. He has never served as an assistant coach, instead climbing deliberately from Newfane High School to seven collegiate stops - and taking four of those schools to the NCAA Tournament.

"It just shows how much depth we have, and that we don't care who gets the credit", Brunson said. "The injuries gave us an opportunity to play Collin Gillespie, to play Dhamir Cosby-Roundree during the season - which gave those guys just enough confidence to be effective during this time of year".

Donte DiVincenzo torched MI for 31 points as the Wildcats thumped the Wolverines, 79-62 at San Antonio.

However, that doesn't change the fact that the 2018 MI basketball team was special. He also plans to slip down to St. Louis to drink some Budweiser while watching his beloved Cardinals - who won 8-4 earlier in the day, he already knew. I think we're so similar, that's the reason why. "I'm sure that Thursday or Friday, I'll be out recruiting".
