The state leaders wrote to the Norwegian Nobel Committee Chairman this week saying the President's efforts to bring peace to the Korean peninsula are transformative.

"What with his successes in Syria, Iran, North Korea, and whatnot, the President already knows he's a lock for the Nobel", she said.

They added that diplomatic overtures have worked to complement this effort, resulting in a succession of gains in recent weeks.

The turnaround comes month after Trump rhetoric toward North Korea ignited fears that an armed confrontation with the reclusive country could be looming.
