The couple filed for divorce in March 2016.

Frances Bean Cobain has lost her late father Kurt Cobain's iconic acoustic guitar famously played during Nirvana's "Unplugged" set in what has become a messy divorce from ex-husband Isaiah Silva.

The acoustic has always been a bone of contention, as Silva has claimed Frances gave him the guitar as a gift - something that was denied by Frances. In addition to its high sentimental value for Cobain, the guitar is said to be worth millions.

Isaiah claims his wife gave him the guitar as a gift but Frances refuted this, insisting in court documents she would never have handed over a "priceless family heirloom".

After five years of dating, Frances married Silva back 2014 in a secret summer wedding attended by close friends.

Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances has prevailed in a legal battle to keep photographs taken at the scene of her father's death sealed from the public, following an application from a conspiracy theorist to have them released.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Sunrise Gold, Burgundy Red Color Variants, Availability Announced
Samsung has announced two new colours - Burgundy Red and Sunrise Gold for its flagship Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones. The Galaxy S9 version will cost 957,000 won ($888), and the Galaxy S9 Plus will come with a price tag of 1.05 million won.

Two years ago, Hole frontwoman and Cobain's widow Courtney Love gave a statement accusing Lee of trying to exploit Cobain's death, which he claims to have been investigating for more than 23 years. Silva will now get to keep the guitar in the final settlement.

"I think the main reason people embrace the conspiracy theory is simply that it's very painful to imagine that Kurt, someone they loved or maybe identified with, that he betrayed them in some degree by taking his own life", he said.

"I would hope that he would be proud of the human being I am even if he didn't like the art I am putting out".
