Gas prices still on the rise

That's 20 cents in the last month.

As the mercury continues to rise nationwide, so does the price of gas here in Eastern North Carolina.

Why are costs rising here and elsewhere?

Gas prices are on the rise, says AAA Oklahoma.

Areas near Texas and their current gas price climate: Midland Odessa- $2.90/g, up 5.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.85/g.

That had led to gas prices being down the past couple of years. Analysts think chances of that record being broken anytime soon are slim.
