Google calls the technology Duplex. Google gave a sneak peek into numerous new features and changes that they have made in their Google Assistant. Starting today, you can choose from six new voices for your Google Assistant. Google calls the previous and original voice "Holly".

Still, regardless whether you think Google Duplex is good or bad, it's incredible to see how far Google's AI has come in the last decade. The biggest highlight of the event was no doubt the demonstration of Google Assistant using the company's Duplex technology to make an actual call to an unsuspecting human. The search bar in Google will also support diversified links to apps. As the changes are being made in the Google Assistant, they will be reflected in the iOS app as well. Also, a new voice variety John Legend is coming for the Assistant later this year. They took notice and, as you do these days, took to Twitter. They're the backbone behind everything you can do in Assistant with third-party services and apps, and since Assistant is spreading its tentacles everywhere these days, they will become more and more fundamental to the way we interact with our phones, speakers, TVs, and other smart devices.

The assistant refers to the person's calendar to find a suitable time slot and then notifies the user when an appointment is scheduled. The feature will also use local landmarks and buildings captured by the camera to help guide the trip.

Now you'll see an array of static app cards. These devices and smart assistants are already being piloted in professional environments to accelerate creativity and productivity. "What we showed at I/O was an early technology demo, and we look forward to incorporating feedback as we develop this into a product", the spokesperson added. A Wind Down Mode feature can let users enter the time they want to go to bed.

Google also rolled out a new version of its Google News at the I/O 2018.

According to a new report quoting Google's head of Android security, David Kleidermacher, the company could soon require OEM partners to roll out regular security patches. With Multiple Actions, which is already starting to roll out, the Google Assistant will be able to understand more complex queries like "What's the weather like in NY and in Austin?"

A new feature is called Full Coverage, which Google says provides a complete picture of a single story, from various sources and formats.

Anyone called by the bot will be told they are conversing with a machine, Google told tech news site the Verge. It will now bring the actions you frequently do, around a given the time of day like going to a jog after office, or reading news in the morning, right from the launcher screen.
