Israel goes on high alert over Syria as Trump quits Iran deal

Israel attacked dozens of Iranian targets in neighboring Syria this week in response to what it says was an Iranian rocket barrage, in the most serious military confrontation between the two bitter enemies to date. That is part of a flurry of diplomatic activity lined up following Tuesday's unilateral withdrawal from what US President Donald Trump called "a awful, one-sided deal", a move accompanied by the threat of penalties against any foreign firms doing business in Iran. Further confirming that Israel ultimately seeks to replicate the destruction of Syria in Iran. "Syria has every right to defend itself", the broadcaster quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi as saying.

Israel's military had been anticipating an attack by Iranian forces after reportedly carrying out a number of strikes on their facilities in Syria in recent months.

Israel's top general, Gadi Eizenkott, canceled a scheduled appearance at an annual security conference and was conferring with Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman and other national security chiefs, officials said.

"I will take advantage of this opportunity to send a message to Assad: Throw the Iranians, Qassem Suleimani [a Revolutionary Guards chief] and the Quds Forces out of your country", Liberman said.

"Under President Trump, and with the emerging condominium of interests between the Saudis and the Israelis, the possibility of war between Israel and Iran is rising".

There was an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) air strike on an underground missile depot where the explosion was so large it registered on earthquake-monitoring systems.

So under Trump the countdown towards End Time has accelerated with next middle east regime destined for destruction being Iran, towards which it has been deemed that Iran must be publically seen to have resumed its nuclear weapons programme so as to allow for the pretext for Israeli missiles and air strikes of which this weeks were just a taste of what's to come as Israel only has a 2 year time window under a Trump Presidency to implement its' expansionary objectives for a Greater Israel and for the destruction of Iran.

The frontier has been largely quiet since the last Israel-Hizbollah war in 2006, and Hizbollah is averse to starting a new confrontation in light of its costly intervention in Syria, where it has lost hundreds of fighters.

But Israel had already become increasingly anxious about Iran's military support of Syria.

Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israel's attacks and called it a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty.

Iran's mistake was to underestimate Israel's ability to put a stop to this plan.

The protests are set to intensify on Monday when the US Embassy opens in Jerusalem. In Iraq, Iran sponsors a range of Shiite militias and has close ties to the political leadership.

Western firms rushed to do business in Iran as the country fell from the grip of United States sanctions, its economy opening up and buoyed by a growing middle class and a young, educated population. Iran is ready to bring the entire region to the brink of disaster.

There are some 5000 U.S. troops in Iraq training Iraq's military after the country declared victory over Isis (Islamic State) previous year. Iran, along with Russian Federation, helped turn the tide in the war and give Assad the upper hand.

Amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, a return to assassinations and overseas attacks can not be ruled out.
