Somehow, the fan outcry seemed to do the trick, with NBC picking up the series for a 13-episode sixth season just a day after Fox announced its cancellation. Recently, both FOX and NBC discussed the TV show's cancellation and season six pick up, reports Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

Action star Dwayne Johnson is producing and appearing in NBC's midseason competition show The Titan Games, which will feature mental and physical challenges.

When Allen's program, in which he plays a sporting-goods retail executive and father of three daughters who sneers at political correctness, was canceled a year ago, conservative pundits claimed it was done in by Hollywood liberals who disagreed with star's own right-leaning political views.

Samberg, who plays Jake Peralta and is one of the producers for the show, tweeted from his Twitter, @thelonelyisland, saying "Thank you to everyone for the insane outpouring of support".

Walden said that after a five-season run by "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", the network didn't have the right place to put it. Among them were Oscar victor Guillermo del Toro, composer-actor Lin-Manuel Miranda and "Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"I got my start on NBC" at "Saturday Night Live", Samberg said in a humorous address to the audience of advertisers and media buyers.

He added that the US administration chose not to have any role in the peace process by choosing Israel's side. Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon defended the use of force, calling the events at the border "violent riots".

The entry of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" in NBC's lineup means that series co-creator Schur already has three comedies on the network. "And, it is my hope that I hope that, this time, a lot more people do too", del Torro tweeted.

This is the week that broadcasters traditionally announce their schedules for the coming season to advertisers in NY, and while they hope to draw attention - and advertising dollars - to their shiny new shows, for viewers whose shows won't be back, it can be a sad time. Be forewarned @FOXTV-when networks dump shows I love, I'm known for holding grudges a long, L-O-N-G time.

The season-five finale is set to air on May 23.

Greenblatt said it was great to see that the fans were as outraged as they were by Fox's B99 cancellation.
