Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, introduced an unlimited domestic post-paid plan for 199 rupees http://bit.ly/2G6iiJa ($2.96) and global calling at 0.50 rupees per minute on Thursday.

The Jio Postpaid plan is priced at Rs. 199 and offers 25GB of data, free unlimited SMS and voice calls (local, STD and national roaming). The validity of this plan is one month. In terms of data, the plan provides 25GB of data per billing cycle and the plan also comes with Jio apps premium subscription, preactivated ISD and global roaming calling option. However, the subscribers will be required to activate global roaming with one click.

Apart from this, the company has announced three new worldwide roaming plans under which users will get unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messages and a certain amount of data.

As for worldwide calling, ISD facility is already preactivated without any security deposit whereas for global roaming, users need to activate it by "one click". And postpaid services and worldwide calling have been a healthy source of revenue streams for telecom players such Airtel and Idea. Similar to prepaid plans, Jio Rs 199 postpaid bundles a free subscription to all Jio apps like JioTV and JioMusic. The company also offers ISD calls benefits with the Jio Postpaid plan.

Chat prices of Bharti Airtel and Concept Cellular fell sharply Now after Reliance Jio Infocomm Introduced a new Postpaid plan.

In Senate primaries, Republicans follow Trump's lead
Often the misstep is nominating a candidate who is either too liberal or too conservative for the district depending on the party. Based on Tuesday's results, CNN is moving four races to a more competitive ranking - all in favor of the Democrats.

What amazes us the most is once again, Airtel and Vodafone have waited this long to let Jio take the lead in the postpaid segment, instead of getting there first when they still had a chance and enough time. Reliance Jio also released information that worldwide roaming service will be given at Rs 2 per minute.

JioPostpaid brings a differentiated connected living experience to post-paid mobile users and will challenge the industry status-quo by offering the lowest tariffs in India and overseas to the post-paid users, Reliance Jio said.

Customers opting for Rs 199 will get unlimited free voice, SMS and 25 GB data at 4G speed, and need not pay any security deposit, the company said. But unlike Jio and Airtel, Vodafone Rs 399 plan doesn't include free SMS.

The postpaid plan, however, will make more sense for people whose data consumption is not uniform. The second slab offers voice calls at Rs 10 per minute, mobile data at Rs 10 per MB and SMS at Rs 10 per message. If you're tempted with this offering or unhappy with your current local carrier or package, you can switch to Reliance Jio by May 15.
