British, French and German foreign ministers met the EU's top diplomat in Brussels ahead of all four discussing the next steps with their Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, a week after Trump abandoned an agreement he branded a "horrible, one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made".

Speaking after a bilateral meeting with EU's Federica Mogherini on Tuesday, Zarif said he had good and constructive talks with her.

The Iranian foreign minister's conversation with Asselborn came as the former is visiting Brussels to attend a trilateral meeting with his French, British, and German counterparts as well as the European Union foreign policy chief on the fate of the Iran nuclear deal.

Upon arrival Araqchi held talks with Helga Schmid, secretary-general of the European External Action Service. The Iranian foreign Minister said that the conservation AGREEMENT and performance of all agreements is a major responsibility of all countries.

It reiterated that Iran was preparing to resume "industrial scale" uranium enrichment "without any restrictions" unless Europe provided solid guarantees it could maintain trade ties despite renewed United States sanctions.

He said the deal "is based on the balance of obligations" between Tehran and the opposite side, including the U.S., and that after Washington's pullout "this balance is undermined", adding, "We should see how we can secure the interests of the Iranian people".

The announcement by Donald Trump that the United States would pull out of the agreement came with the restoration of sanctions against Tehran, including six individuals and three companies it claims are funnelling millions of dollars to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard's elite Quds Force.

Zarif will later fly to Moscow and Brussels to consult the remaining signatories to the 2015 agreement denounced by US President Donald Trump.

Europe sought on Tuesday to find a way to save the Iran nuclear deal without the United States but was short on details about how the accord could survive the reimposition of US sanctions ordered by President Donald Trump. "Our talks (with the E3) will continue in the next two weeks", he said, referring to Britain, France and Germany.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already spoken with Germany's Angela Merkel and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan about the efforts, after voicing his "deep concern" over Trump's decision.

"We started our work to get assurances from Europe".

Merkel is set to visit Russian Federation and meet Putin in the Black Sea resort of Sochi on Friday, while French President Emmanuel Macron will be in Saint Petersburg later this month for an economic forum.

After long negotiations, Iran had agreed in July 2015 to freeze its nuclear program in return for the lifting of punishing global sanctions.

Russian Federation and Iran once had hard relations but have seen ties improve since the end of the Cold War.

He said: "What we are going to do tomorrow in Brussels is we are going to have a conversation about what we can do to help United Kingdom firms, European firms have some confidence that they can still do business".
