"My heartfelt thanks go to the manager, Jose Mourinho, for the belief he had in me, all those years ago, when it all was just a student dream".

Rui Faria says he wants to "spend much more quality time with my family before pursuing any new challenge in my professional life". I would like to thank him for the opportunity and confidence, for the knowledge and experience, but most importantly for his friendship.

Faria has labored with Mourinho for 17 years and his departure will spark questions who can substitute him with membership captain Michael Carrick thought of an early contender.

'I would also like to thank Manchester United and all the clubs where I have had the privilege of working during this period.

'I want you all one of the best for the long run, realizing that you'll all the time be my shut mates'.

"United who round off their Premier League campaign against Watford on Sunday and then face Chelsea in the FA Cup final wished him well after his two years at the club".

Will Meet North Korea's Kim on June 12 in Singapore, Says Trump
During their talks in Washington , the two discussed the upcoming North Korea-U.S. summit that's set for June 12th in Singapore . North Korea's state companies have, in the past, conducted legal and illegal business dealings with Singaporean companies.

His time at club is not over however, as once he hangs up his boots he will become part of Jose Mourinho's coaching staff. Mourinho's principal assistant for close to two decades, Faria has resigned.

Carrick will continue at the club in a coaching capacity and Herrera believes the former England worldwide has all the attributes to succeed in a managerial role in the future.

"He's the right person to be an assistant as he's very calm and balanced", said Herrera. "But having to actually get yourself in the frame of mind to take one, in the back of your mind knowing the consequences if you miss, it's a tough place to be".

"Let's try and make it a attractive day for him".

Widely regarded as the most capable assistant within European football, Faria has previously rejected a host of offers from leading clubs to manage in his own right in order to remain loyal to Mourinho, who first hired him as a 25-year-old sports science graduate to be the physical trainer at Uniao Leiria in 2001.

"He never gets insane happy and in the bad moments he keeps his head and tries to give the right advice to the team". I think the Liverpool game, because of the history and the tradition and everything that goes behind it, it run deeps doesn't it? Have your say in the comments section below.
