In Tom Green County, there is one race each in the Democratic Party runoff and the Republican Party runoff.

The victor of the Democratic party gubernatorial runoff election will fact incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott in November.

Early voting has started for more than 30 races throughout the state, where a candidate failed to capture 50 percent of the votes cast in the March 6 primaries.

The biggest race is the battle for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination between Lupe Valdez and Andrew White. White is a businessman in Houston and the son of the late Governor Mark White.

By the way, you can not switch parties between the March 6 primaries and the May 22 runoffs.
