During his chat with Howard Stern, Baldwin even said he's only making these comments because people don't really have a sense for who's actually going to run in 2020. Baldwin said that his wife Hilaria would disapprove of his seeking the presidency.

"If I ran [for president], I would win", Alec Baldwin recently told radio show host Howard Stern in an interview. "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his bad impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. I would absolutely win", Baldwin admits rather confidently.

"I've got a name for you: Alec Baldwin", Stern replies, prompting Baldwin to say, "If I ran, I would win..."

Stern then suggested that Baldwin run as his Donald Trump persona from Saturday Night Live.

It's not the first time the 60-year-old actor has talked about running for president.

David Davis says parliament vote can not reverse Brexit
Today the government avoided an embarrassing defeat on a key Brexit vote by offering concessions to Remainer Tory MPs. The upper chamber, the House of Lords, inserted amendments in 15 areas to soften the terms of Britain's departure.

"It would be the funniest, most exciting, craziest campaign", Baldwin added.

"I'd love to run for that kind of position to have things just be very common sense", he added. "There are so many things that this country needs to do that are so obvious". "He said in 2017 that he would make a "good president" but didn't know if his family would want to handle life in the White House".

Stern raised the question of Baldwin being the hope of the Democratic Party, which he quickly refuted.

"Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his bad impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony".
