He is not expected to stay till the end of the summit.

"If the expectation was that a weekend in attractive Charlevoix surrounded by lovely people was going to transform the president's outlook on trade and the world, then we didn't quite perhaps meet that bar" - Trudeau acknowledges the deep divide between the U.S. and fellow G7 members in an end of summit press conference.

But Trump is provoking his fellow G7 leaders by calling for Russia's reinstatement in the group, after it was kicked out for invading Ukraine four years ago.

European officials said Trump had opposed language in the draft final summit communique on the need to bolster the World Trade Organization and multilateral oversight of commerce, but that this commitment would survive.

But in a tweet after flying out of Canada, the United States president showed he was in no mood to back down in any trade dispute.

The G7 summit, held in La Malbaie, Quebec province, also covered such issues as relations with Russian Federation.

The U.S. president is lashing out on several fronts. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!' Trump continued. "Not fair to our farmers!", his Twitter feed states.

He rebuked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for being "dishonest & weak" and making "false statements".

But after leaving for Singapore, Trump tweeted personal attacks on Trudeau and said that he had told his representatives not to sign the summit communique, turning what had already been a tense meeting of the world's leading industrialised democracies into a fiasco.

A member of Macron's team characterized the talks as "frank and robust", with Trump first repeating his lengthy diatribe about what he regards as unfair trade restrictions - before the Europeans responded with facts and figures they felt would blunt his argument.

O'Neal has made headlines over the years, mostly for his reported struggle with drug addiction. Redmond has been in jail since the 7-11 incident, his next hearing is scheduled for July.

"I think the G8 would be better".

Trudeau addressed the president's Twitter blasts while visiting Quebec's Saguenay region on Thursday. "The Prime Minister said nothing he hasn't said before - both in public, and in private conversations with the President", the office added.

"President Trump and I had a brief word here at the summit about how he is looking forward to his visit to the United Kingdom and I look forward to welcoming him to the United Kingdom".

The president said the US was "pretty close" to reaching an agreement on the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico and had discussed two types of sunset provisions in which any of the countries could leave the deal.

President Donald Trump wrapped his short trip to Canada extolling his relationship with the G7 countries as a 10 out of 10, and blasting reports of rifts between the us and world as nothing more than "fake news".

Trump is painting a highly inaccurate tariff picture - wrongly suggesting everyone else has high tariffs while USA has none.

Trudeau has worked hard to find common ground with the unpredictable president, but the personal bond he has tried to forge has been strained.

Trump's statement was made just before he left: the U.S. president has been at odds with the G-7 countries over mounting import duties disagreements.

"The United States has been taken advantage of for decades and decades", Trump told reporters, reiterating his long-standing view that Washington has been exploited for too long by existing trade arrangements.
