It's an interesting move by BioWare, which seems to be positioning Anthem as the most story-rich of the big hobby games.

Many see it as the successor to BioWare's Mass Effect series, which has been killed off for the time being.

It'll come out simultaneously for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, though it's a safe bet that EA Access and Origin Access will offer their usual Play First Trials several days earlier on Xbox One and PC respectively. Respawn offered zero gameplay of this new game on the EA Play stage. On top of choosing your preferred class of Javelin - which will dictate what kinds of weapons and abilities you use - you can also thoroughly kit out your suit.

BioWare's Jonathan Warner was asked by a fan if Anthem would be getting a beta period like Mass Effect: Andromeda, last year. That's a big difference from its key rivals, Destiny and The Division, which have both had a PvP mode in all their releases so far (though there's a lot we don't yet know about The Division 2).

It's unclear whether the Anthem beta period will be an open beta or a closed beta.

Sea Of Solitude Is About Loneliness And Embracing Negative Emotions
The story centres on a young woman whose loneliness is so strong that she becomes a physical monster. This one is called Sea of Solitude , and comes from Berlin-based indie studio, Jo-Mei Games.

And, as Warner said, an announcement on the Anthem beta release date is a while off.

E3 is well and truly underway with the EA Play conference kicking things off on Saturday evening, and it's fair to say that the show was, well, a bit of a mixed bag.

Considering how maddening the end of the year is going to get, a February release window makes sense.

Unlike Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's events, EA Play will feature games from just one publisher: Electronic Arts.

The decision to move away from "pay-for-power" advantages comes with a backstory for the publisher, which was highly criticized after revealing the extent of microtransactions in "Star Wars: Battlefront II" past year. You can also watch it right here via EA's Twitch channel.
