As of the writing of this story, Infinity War has grossed $2 billion worldwide.

Since being released in late April, the superhero film has broken multiple box office records. It's enough for Infinity War to hold the #5 slot on the all-time domestic list, but Black Panther sits pretty at #3, behind only Avatar and The Force Awakens. This makes Infinity War the fourth film in movie history to earn such a distinction.

Additionally, Infinity War is already the fifth-highest grossing film in domestic box office record, now sitting at $655.1 million, inevitably set to overtake Black Panther ($699.4M) and Titanic ($659.3M), and likely set to finish just behind The Force Awakens ($936.6M) and Avatar ($760.5M).

It was the #1 film for three consecutive weeks and remains in the top five.

Internationally, it is the third-highest grossing release ever with $1.346 billion, and its combined domestic and worldwide debuts set a record of $640.5 million. Domestically the film notched $6.8 million this last weekend, and internationally the film pulled in another $10.9 million. All of those films were released over the winter holidays.

Now we can all start speculating whether or not next year's Avengers 4 will top this.

The untitled sequel to "Infinity War" is slated for release May 3, 2019. Indeed, Infinity War placed at 5 last weekend, having added $7.2 million to its total, even besting the debuting Hotel Artemis, which came in at a disappointing 8. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
