The report suggests that a number of Italian clubs and West Ham United are also interested in Wilshere, who will be available on a free transfer if he does not pen an Arsenal contract extension.

Mourinho is expected to be extremely active in the transfer market this summer as he looks to create a squad capable of competing with Manchester City having finished 19 points adrift of their rivals last season.

The attacker is tied into a deal at Chelsea until the summer of 2020.

It is claimed United have given up on their bid to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, who looks set to stay at the Bernabeu this summer.

Willian has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club back in 2013 but the 29-year-old is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

However, Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of Chelsea's Willian and would apparently be open to taking the Brazilian plus cash for Martial.

Arsenal have announced midfielder Granit Xhaka has committed his future to the Premier League club by signing a new "long-term" contract.

A brief spell of hope in the pursuit of priority target Anthony Martial materialised yesterday, as his agent revealed the player's desire to leave Manchester United, in quotes via RMC Sport.

"And I feel the Man United fans are a little bit disappointed in the way he's treated Rashford".
