Hundreds of Iranian fans surrounded the hotel where Portugal's national team is based, making loud noises for several hours overnight in an attempt to disrupt their opponents' sleep before a decisive World Cup match later Monday.

"Not even in their dreams did my players imagine they would one day play against Cristiano, and all of Portugal's other great players so they are very excited". A draw will be enough for Portugal to qualify for the group stages, while Iran will qualify with a win.

While we can't see Ronaldo's features, he casts an very distinct silhouette.

"They have quality players, with the experience of two successive World Cups and some of them are playing in big leagues like Spain, Greece, or Russian Federation".

With a win from two games, Portugal are placed second in the group with four points while Iran, who pipped Morocco 1-0 before falling against Spain, lie at the third place with three points.

"He has been my colleague and friend for 35 years", said Santos. "They are good on the counter-attack", he said.

But she also claimed that "every day on Twitter Jews are called actual apes, and actual pigs" and nobody says anything about it. I think we should all be able to coexist and in the meantime, I'll be able to joke about it because it's amusing , ' he added.

"I want to win, my colleague wants to win and it's going to be a tough and strong battle".

Portugal go into the contest as heavy favourites to progress, but veteran centre-back Pepe strongly insisted the job was not yet complete. "We know it will be hard, but as I said before we came here and didn't expect easy things". He has scored all of their four goals, including a hat-trick in the 3-3 draw against Spain.

"He makes the difference here, like he does at Real Madrid and before at Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon", Santos said. The match starts at 20:00 on 25 June 2018.

Iran have so far been impressive in defence and their defenders will have to once again come out with spirit to restrict Ronaldo from scoring.

Iran made just one change, bringing in Alireza Jahanbakhsh up front for Karim Ansarifard. Here at The Hard Tackle, we pick out three players who could play a vital role in this highly anticipated encounter.
