Former NBA most valuable player (MVP) Kevin Durant exploded with a career playoff-high of 43 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 3-0 advantage over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the best-of-seven finals.

"I mean, it's nearly like playing the (New England) Patriots, you can't have mistakes".

Durant spoke to Yahoo Sports afterwards and explained why it's easier to play on a team that's full of people who don't possess the same talent as him and harder to play on a team that is stacked with stars.

Durant now holds a $26,250,000 player option for next season that he is expected to waive in order to become a free agent and sign a long-term deal with the Warriors. Even if they somehow keep the core together, three of their important players will be 33 when next season starts (Chris Paul, PJ Tucker, Trevor Ariza). I pride myself on standing out wherever I am.

At issue now is whether the seven nations can conclude their meeting with a joint statement of priorities. He also said the US was so disadvantaged it had nothing to lose in a trade war.

"I felt like he was missing shots and struggling to shoot the ball and the confidence he had to pull that one up", Durant said. I pride myself on working hard wherever I go. It's not always just about you. "I was just trying to play great defense, run the plays coach draws up and run with the flow of where our offense is like throughout a game. All that other stuff doesn't matter".

Between his absurd shot-making and his incredible passing in this series, Durant's impact on the Warriors offense has been invaluable.

No team in National Basketball Association history has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit to win the finals, but it's never wise to count out LeBron James, who many people feel is the greatest player in the history of the game.

I believe Boston could challenge the Warriors next year, when Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward are healthy, and I believe LeBron's best chance to take down the Warriors would by teaming up with Paul George on the Lakers.
