While the rest of the DCEU is in something of a state of flux with talks of Ben Affleck exiting his Batman role, the success of 2017's Wonder Woman made a sequel all-but guaranteed. While the press release doesn't confirm who's writing the screenplay, Jenkins and Geoff Johns were previously revealed to be working on the script, so it'll be interesting to see who earns the final credit.

Gal Gadot takes in numerous popular television programs from 1984 in a new photo for Wonder Woman 2, or as the film looks to now be titled, Wonder Woman 1984.

Jenkins' image was joined by another from Gal Gadot's Twitter account - this one showing Wonder Woman silhouetted against a bank of TV screens covered in 80s-style imagery.

Warner Bros. did not specify how Steve Trevor (who seemingly died in the first film set in World War I) is returning.
