She added that Anthony, a "lover of people of all kinds", showed no signs that something was wrong. She was fantastic. So strong and courageous. She stood up to her monster rapist", writes McGowan, referring to Argento's allegation that she had been sexually assaulted by high-profile producer Harvey Weinstein, "and now she has to stand up to yet another monster, suicide.

"And now she has to stand up to yet another monster, suicide".

Bourdain's mom, Gladys Bourdain, has also spoken out about her son's death.

In 2014, the organization I work for, The Muslim Public Affairs Council's (MPAC) Hollywood Bureau awarded Mr. Bourdain with its "Voices of Courage and Conscience" Media Award for the Israel-Palestine episode of "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown", where he approached the issue of the Israel-Palestine conflict with authenticity, nuance, and inclusivity.

CNN confirmed the news of Bourdain's death, saying the TV host was found unresponsive Friday morning by friend and chef Eric Ripert.

McGowan has been speaking out about his sudden death ever since, alternately mourning his loss and expressing fury at him for taking his own life. "I never coaxed her or even suggested that she try something out of her comfort zone", he told TheTakeout.com in 2016. "Ariane and Asia, you have all of our love".

President Obama, who made a guest appearance on "Parts Unknown" in 2016, tweeted a touching photo and memory of Bourdain. "I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are", Ottavia wrote in the caption. Please reach out. Asia needed you, Anthony. This breaking of bread was at the core of Anthony Bourdain's work: that no matter where in the world we were from, no matter our political differences, we could all come together over a meal and see that we're not that different, after all.

Argento posted her own message on Instagram on Friday.
