The EU has praised the summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as a "crucial and necessary step", saying it indicated "complete denuclearisation" of the Korean peninsula could be achieved.

Body language experts said that in the 13 seconds or so the USA president held on to the hand of Kim for the first time, he projected his usual dominance by reaching out first, and patting the North Korean leader's shoulder.

Across a slew of Fox News shows, hosts on Tuesday lauded the president and trotted out a number of close Trump allies as guests to do the same. Trump did not mention human rights in his opening remarks at the news conference that followed the two leaders' meeting, giving only a vague answer to a reporter's question about whether his legitimization of Pyongyang betrayed North Korean human rights victims. "So it's a great honor", President Trump said at the signing ceremony early Tuesday morning.

Farmers Block Refineries to Protest Palm Oil Import
Many farmers welcomed the president's call for fairer farmgate prices as part of a food chain review a year ago . This was part of a three-day protest over plans to allow Total to use palm oil at a biofuel plant.

To Trump's statement "I'm given what I'm given" to ABC News' George Stephanopoulos about working with a brutal dictator like Kim, Colbert quipped, "Kim kills his own people, but it's not like he kneeled during the National Anthem". "That's not what you have to do", Trump said. And I know that we will have tremendous success together, and we will solve a big problem, a big dilemma that, until this point, has been unable to be solved.

"Trump wanted to make it look like he did something big, whether he did something big or not".

"The mere fact of the meeting between the leaders of the United States and North Korea is positive. He was not leaving the summit without claiming he made a deal", Kimmel said. So he sets the meeting, he has the sit-down, he hears what he wants to hear: blah blah blah.
