PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, "US Tariffs were kind of insulting" and he "will not be pushed around".

While Trump set a combative tone before even arriving at the summit with tweets about unfair trade deals, he appeared affable and joking at multiple brief photo opportunities and praised Macron for helping to work out trade issues.

The Canadian Prime Minister's office, however, noted that Trudeau said nothing he has not said before either in public, or in private conversations with Trump.

Trump's statement was made just before he left: the United States president has been at odds with the G-7 countries over mounting import duties disagreements.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday said he had instructed his representatives not to endorse a joint communique put out by the Group of Seven leaders after what he called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's "false statements" at a news conference. "Canadians are polite and reasonable but we will also not be pushed around".

"We're like the piggy bank that everybody's robbing, and it ends", Mr. Trump told reporters at a press conference at the end of the meeting, just before he jets off to Singapore to meet with North Korea's leader. Otherwise, "we're going to make a deal directly with Canada, directly with Mexico".

Trump then called Trudeau "Very dishonest & weak" in a follow-up tweet.

As he headed to a G7 summit in Canada, Mr Trump said: "Russia should be in the meeting".

But I feel really confident", Trump said of Monday's meeting, which is the first between a North Korean leader and sitting US president, "It's never been done, It's never been tested.

Donald Trump has called for Russian Federation to be reinstated to the leading group of industrialised nations now known as the G7.

All seven countries agreed to a joint statement on artificial intelligence, global trade, middle class growth, innovation, girls' education, and defending democracies from foreign intrusions. "We, the Leaders of the G7" is how the communique begins.

Canada, Mexico and the European Union all threatened retaliatory tariffs after their exemption status was lifted.

The Canadian government announced at the G7 summit that it has raised more than $3.8 billion in an effort with other countries to send the world's poorest girls to school. Tariffs have been falling for decades due to free trade agreements.

But their facts, figures and plaintive explanations - including about Europeans' love of Apple iPhones, or that there can be trade imbalances between countries in the EU's single market that have zero tariffs between them - fell on deaf ears.

"We need the president to be able to distinguish between our allies and adversaries, and to treat each accordingly", he said in a statement.

Thursday, Trump took aim at Trudeau and Macron, accusing them of benefiting from one-sided trade arrangements with the United States. "You know, it's like the gig is up".

Donald Trump has been busy attacking US allies ahead of the G7 summit which begins today in the town of La Malbaie in Quebec.

His early departure from the G7 meant he will miss sessions on climate change and the environment.
