The former conservative commentator, whom Trumpnamed to lead the National Economic Council in March, was sent to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (Jun 12) tweeted that his top economic advisor had suffered a heart attack.
Kudlow, a Republican who served as an economic adviser to former President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s and also worked on Wall Street, is an ardent advocate of "supply side" economic policies that focus on cutting taxes and reducing regulations. The White House did not release any more information about his condition.
"He made an error", Kudlow said. Moore said one of his confidants had spoken with Kudlow on Monday evening. "He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center", Trump wrote on Twitter, shortly ahead of a historic summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Kudlow, 70, had spent much of Sunday defending his own comments about the president's appearance at the G-7 meetings in Quebec, Canada, and about a news conference by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after Trump had abruptly departed the country.
