Mr. Trump blasted Clinton's use of the server for her State Department email as a talking point during the end of the 2016 campaign, a habit that has persisted throughout his presidency thus far. "I did a great service to the people in firing him", Trump tweeted.

The president on Friday also blasted two Federal Bureau of Investigation agents cited in Thursday's much-anticipated report, Lisa Page and Peter Strzok.

"Rather, we determined that they were based on the prosecutors' assessment of the facts, the law, and past department practice".

Then-FBI director Comey concluded in July 2016 that while there was "evidence of potential violations" regarding the handling of classified information, "no reasonable prosecutor" would bring a case against Clinton.

Trump found new ammunition to resume his attacks after the inspector general's report concluded that Comey made a "serious error of judgment" by announcing that he was renewing the investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server, a move Clinton has argued swung the election in Trump's favor.

The report does find that Comey's actions were not politically motivated to help either candidate. "But our review did not find evidence to connect the political views expressed in these messages to the specific investigative decisions that we reviewed".

Comey defended his actions in an op-ed published in the New York Times after the report was released. "The FBI handled the investigation in a way that was very problematic for Clinton and complicated her life immensely".

McGregor, who was not on the UFC 223 card, was stripped of the lightweight title because of his long absence from UFC fights . The damage to the glass caused a laceration on UFC fighter Michael Chiesa's forehead.

Lynch and Clinton said that they did not discuss the Midyear investigation during their conversation. "Come on", she said.

There was some degree of humor in the Dept. of Justice's Inspector General's report. He added that his political views did not in any way influence his work on the Clinton probe.

President Donald Trump applauded a review of how the FBI investigated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton Friday while calling its conclusion flawed. And Comey said had he known earlier about the laptop's import, it might have affected his decision to notify Congress.

When asked if Mr. Comey should get jail time, Mr. Trump said someone else should make that decision.

Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation previous year after Horowitz's office discovered anti-Trump text messages between him and FBI lawyer Lisa Page. It represents the culmination of an 18-month review into one of the most consequential FBI investigations in recent history. Right?!" Page texted Strzok in August 2016. "No.

"But my emails", Clinton tweeted on Thursday in response to a tweet from a Politico reporter highlighting Comey's own email missteps.
