Not updated today are the MacBook Air, 12-inch MacBook and the 13-inch MacBook Pro without the Touchbar - those models all still use older CPUs.

Apple just announced a major upgrade to the MacBook Pro lineup.

Here are the pictures Apple provided for the new laptops: Apple also launched new leather sleeves for MacBook Pro laptops. In addition to graphics and computational acceleration, the Blackmagic eGPU is also the ideal docking hub for connecting devices such as keyboards, mice, Thunderbolt monitors, big screen HDMI televisions, high speed storage and more. Apple continues to insist that only a very small percentage of keyboards fail due to small bits of grit and dust getting stuck in keys (though it made a fix warranty extension program all the same), and I know many people who have run into just this problem with their keyboards.

The updated Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro features a 6-core 8th-generation Intel core processor.

Apple Inc. released an upgraded MacBook Pro line Thursday that's faster and has more features, targeting its loyal base of professional users like app developers and movie editors.

iMac - Kuo says to expect a significant display performance upgrade presumably by increasing the number of quick sketch artists shoved behind the screen. "The company also says its 15" wonders will all come with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory for configurations with Radeon Pro discrete graphics, up from 2 GB in lower-end discrete graphics configurations of the past.

Along with all the hardware upgrades, Apple is bringing the so-called Apple T2 Chip introduced with the iMacs.

Prices here start at £1,749 and £2,349.

The 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro can be spec'ed with either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor with up to 2.7GHz and double the eDRAM. On top of those weighty responsibilities, the T2 lets the new MacBook Pros handle "Hey Siri" invocations for the first time. The more interesting accessory, if you can call it that way, is the eGPU (external GPU) for the MacBook Pros. Perhaps the 11-inch model will be the same size of smaller than the previous gen, as is often the case with new smartphone generations.

The Blackmagic eGPU features a Radeon Pro 580 graphics processor that delivers improved graphics and incredible computational performance. And Blackmagic said it's the first eGPU capable of supporting Thunderbolt 3 displays.
