Expressing shock over his demise the show's producer, Asit Kumar Modi, said, "He was an incredible actor and a very positive person". He was admitted in Wokhardt Hospital at Mira Road in Mumbai and was under doctor's supervision. He was unwell since few days and last night he slipped into coma, he breathed last an hour ago.

Not only the crew of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is in shock, but the television industry too are speechless.

"He was an wonderful actor and a very positive person".

The actor died due to a massive cardiac arrest.

Speaking about the unfortunate incident, he added that Kavi Kumar Azad had called in the morning to inform that he is not feeling well and will not be able to come for the shoot today. The shoot of the show at Film City has been cancelled after the team learnt of this shocking news.

The show recently celebrated its completion of 2500 episodes and was set to celebrate its 10th anniversary on July 28.

The show is based on the column Duniya Ne Oondha Chashma written by columnist and journalist Taarak Mehta for Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha.
