TV stars are undoubtedly on edge this morning as they wait to hear who will be honored with a nomination for the 2018 Emmy Awards. Game of Thrones "helped boost the premium cable service's total and became the most-nominated series of all time, with its 129 nods topping the 124 nominations earned by ER". It wasn't until 2013 that Netflix won a single award for House of Cards, the first original online-only web television series to receive major nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards and now, just five years later, Netflix has more awards than any other content maker.

Game of Thrones garnered a whopping 22 nominations - the most for any series this year.

Netflix scored 112 nominations to HBO's 108.

The top comedy nominee is Donald Glover's Atlanta, with 16. Silicon Valley and Curb Your Enthusiasm grabbed seven and four nominations each. Lena Headey, who plays their sister Cersei Lannister, also earned a nomination for supporting actress in a drama series. GLOW was also nominated for a half-dozen technical awards.
