George Clooney reported hurt in motorcycle crash in Italy

Hollywood star George Clooney was treated in hospital on Tuesday for minor injuries after a scooter accident in Sardinia.

A photo from the Italian website La Nuova showed the car's windshield cracked.

George Clooney has been hospitalised after crashing his bike in Sardinia, Italy, according to reports.

Clooney was travelling towards the set in Costa Corallina when a vehicle suddenly turned and struck him, according to La Nuova.

It's understood the superstar was taken to the emergency room at John Paul II hospital. He reportedly suffered bruises to a knee and arm, as well as slight injuries to his pelvis.

Clooney has now been discharged, and local media that had gathered at the hospital said he is believed to have left through a side exit. He has been in Sardinia since mid May, shooting TV series Catch 22, which he is directing and in which he also stars, alongside Hugh Laurie, Kyle Chandler and Christopher Abbott.

Immediately after the crash, Clooney was transported to a nearby hospital. Clooney fell off the scooter and slammed into the windshield of the Mercedes.

Italy is an important place for Amal and George.
