Italian newspaper La Nuova Sardegna tweeted a photo of the purported accident site.

George Clooney has been injured after a motorcyle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Sardinia, Italian media reports.

George Clooney was reportedly involved in a motorbike accident Tuesday.

Clooney was travelling towards the set in Costa Corallina when a vehicle suddenly turned and struck him, according to La Nuova.

The John Paul II hospital in Olbia said the actor was released on Tuesday.

La Nuova reported he was found to have a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and arm, but his condition was not serious.

Amal, 40, and George, along with their one-year-old twins, are now living in Sardinia for the summer, where he is filming his new TV series, Catch 22.

He was joined by wife Amal Clooney and it has been reported that the pair left the hospital together in a private vehicle. He has been in Sardinia since mid May, shooting TV series Catch 22, which he is directing and in which he also stars, alongside Hugh Laurie, Kyle Chandler and Christopher Abbott.

Clooney, 57, plays US Air Force commander Scheisskopf in the World War Two Channel 4 drama, based on Joseph Heller's classic novel. The series is being produced for Hulu.

Immediately after the crash, Clooney was transported to a nearby hospital.

George and Amal were seen arrive in the island on a private jet at the end of June with their twins Alexander and Ella.

They all came together at the up-market Il Marino di Puntaldia restaurants after George had finished filming.
