The long-running Jack Wilshere's connection to Arsenal seems to be over with the English midfielder set to join West Ham United on Monday as the midfielder undergone a medical at the London side.

Wilshere, who left Arsenal when his contract expired last month, has been handed a three-year contract by the Hammers.

Wilshere was born in Stevenage and was brought up in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, an hour's journey north of West Ham's old ground of Upton Park. However, the club suits him down to the ground and he should settle in quickly, assuming he avoids injury.

He will become West Ham's fourth summer signing following the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini.

The same report says that West Ham United are also keen on a deal to land the Brazilian attacker this summer as the Hammers look to strengthen their own squad.
