The dead included the 61-year-old patriarch and his children: Kaitlyn, 20, Danna, 17, and 14-year-old twins Melissa and Allison, relatives said.

The sole survivor of the crash, mother Mary Rose Trinidad, is recovering in the hospital and is in stable condition.

Her husband, 61-year-old Audie Trinidad, and their daughters - Kaitlyn, 20, Danna, 17, and Allison and Melissa, who were 13-year-old twins - all died when a Ford F-350 truck crossed a median on State Route 1 Highway in DE and struck their minivan, according to WPIX.

Kern was not seriously injured when the rear of his auto was struck by the pickup truck Friday afternoon on Route 1 in Townsend, Del.

The crash, according to the Associated Press, happened on Friday when the family was returning home from a trip to Ocean City, Maryland.

Sources close to the family told Eyewitness News that Audie worked as a postal worker while Mary Rose is a nurse at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

"I was crying. I had no words to say", said Amber Dow, Danna Trinidad's friend.

"They're a God-fearing family".

However, in an interview with ES magazine in May she noted that she had no desire to undergo plastic surgery. Sharing two photos with Stassie, Kylie revealed that today marked their eight years of friendship.

Trinidad's brother, Daniel, told the New York Post his sister-in-law remains in the hospital with multiple fractures and knows "her entire family has been wiped out".

Nelson's daughter, Kim Trinidad, had lived with Audie Trinidad's family for four years, since graduating from nursing school in the Philippines. On Saturday, the heartbroken community in Teaneck, New Jersey, gathered together for a church service and vigil.

"Everyone that I knew who went to high school and middle school with them, I can see that they were a part of the Teaneck family". Authorities have said the children were not wearing seat belts.

Delaware State Police say they are continuing to investigate the crash. The minivan carrying the Trinidad family broadsided the truck, flipping over the work vehicle on impact, the firefighter said.

"They're a God fearing family", he said.

Kern says he is now a proponent of seatbelt safety, as he believes that may have helped save his life. "The great times she was there for me". It was the last the family heard from them.

The truck driver, a 44-year-old man from East New Market, Maryland, was treated and released from the hospital.

A GoFundMe page set up to assist with funeral costs and Mary Rose's recovery had raised more than $113,000 as of Sunday afternoon. God needs more angels.
