Juventus chose to sell Higuain for the upcoming trip to Turin Cristiano Ronaldo, for whom the Champions of Italy will have to pay a record in the history of the club 100-120 million euros.

Higuain has been at Juventus since the summer of 2018 after joining the club in a record transfer from Serie A side Napoli.

A member of the Chelsea technical staff had emailed all players who have not been at the World Cup telling them to report to the Cobham training ground on Saturday and Sunday this week.

Conte won the league title in his first season with Chelsea and saw the West London club fell to a 2-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal in the final of Emirates FA Cup.

Roman Abramovich ought to get this manager mess sorted or Chelsea risk being unprepared for the season ahead.

Juventus are claimed to be demanding a fee of around €60m for Higuain and according to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, Chelsea are ready to play ball and match that figure this summer. At the time of writing, the players have no idea who will be their manager come the start of the 2018/19 campaign, who will be leading their upcoming pre-season campaign, nor when it is even due to begin.

At a cost of £53 million for a player who is now into his 30s, the transfer could be seen as a risk.

The forward has been at Juventus since 2016 and has scored 40 goals in his 73 appearances for the Old Lady.

Higuain has made a career out of scoring and Chelsea are relying on him returning to his Napoli form to help fire them back into Premier League contention.
