Juventus are claimed to be demanding a fee of around €60m for Higuain and according to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, Chelsea are ready to play ball and match that figure this summer. At the time of writing, the players have no idea who will be their manager come the start of the 2018/19 campaign, who will be leading their upcoming pre-season campaign, nor when it is even due to begin.
At a cost of £53 million for a player who is now into his 30s, the transfer could be seen as a risk.
The forward has been at Juventus since 2016 and has scored 40 goals in his 73 appearances for the Old Lady.
Higuain has made a career out of scoring and Chelsea are relying on him returning to his Napoli form to help fire them back into Premier League contention.
