Possible salmonella contamination causes a number of food recalls in Atlantic provinces

The company said it is conducting this recall as a precaution, based on the ingredient supplier's recall.

There have been no complaints of illness reported to Mondelez Global to date in connection with these products.

The maker of Ritz products, Mondelēz Global LLC, announced a voluntary recall of some of its Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products.

Trump is reimposing sanctions on Iran after deciding to pull out of the 2015 worldwide deal to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons .

The recall affects the Fast & Fancy Broccoli and Cheddar and the Country Chicken flavoured rice products.

"Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections", the agency warns.

Consumers are advised to discard any products they may have.
