The same court that sentenced Sharif also sentenced his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, to seven years in absentia in a case stemming from documents leaked from a Panama law firm.

Sharif and his daughter are now in London, where the former prime minister's wife is undergoing cancer treatment.

"We are not associated in any way with the attack on Hussain Nawaz's residence or the related protest", the party's United Kingdom spokesperson said.

NAB teams are expected to arrest both father and daughter as soon as they arrive.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also announced that it will arrest the two on their arrival in Lahore on Friday. "We will make sure that Sharif and Maryam do not leave the airport and are arrested there", he said. But after the video message was sent to the party workers and supporters through the PML-N media cell regarding his surrender, the charged workers received him near Liaquat Bagh at about 4pm and they started marching towards the federal capital, where NAB Rawalpindi's regional headquarters is situated.

Mushahidullah further said that the caretaker federal government and NAB should allow Nawaz to address the people and urge them to disperse peacefully.
