Warframe is making its way to Switch

Warframe has been traveling underneath the radar for quite some time compared to games like Fortnite.

Warframe on Nintendo Switch is happening, meaning you'll be able to play one of the best free games on the handiest console.

There's no release date for the Switch version now, but you can check out the announcement trailer below. It was then ported onto both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Gamers take control of the Tenno and use their biomechanical suits called Warframes to battle against different factions that are trying to bend the universe to their will.

During today's TennoLive (formerly TennoCon), Digital Extremes announced a partnership with developer "Panic Button" to bring Warframe to the Nintendo Switch. Warriors of blade and gun - masters of the Warframe armor. As ambitious of a port as it may seem, it's no real surprise that Digital Extremes went to Panic Button for help with the Switch version of Warframe. There has been no specific launch date announced for the game.

The game has received various expansions since its release in 2013, including the Plains of Eidolon expansion in 2017, and the The Sacrifice expansion last month.
