The Golden State Warriors are applying the finishing touches to their roster for the upcoming season.

The 31-year-old 6-foot-10 forward was waived by Utah on Saturday. Otherwise, he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

An eight-year National Basketball Association veteran, Jerebko can sign a veteran minimum deal with the Warriors, ESPN reported. Should he clear waivers without a hiccup, there's little doubt he'll prove a solid fit with the Dubs - and here's why. Golden State will sign Jerebko at the veteran minimum (around $2.4 million), giving the Warriors 13 players on their active roster.

The recent signing of former Utah Jazz forward Jonas Jerebko appears to indicate that either David West or Zaza Pachulia - both free agents - will end up being cut from the team prior to opening night. Jerebko has a $4.2M salary that would need to be guaranteed if he's claimed.

Golden State did not bring back guard Nick Young, who was a primary shooting option off the bench last season. The Warriors' signing of Jerebko is expected to be made official on Monday.

Jerebko, an eight-year veteran, signed a two-year contract with Utah ahead of the 2017-18 season, but the second year was not guaranteed.
