Speaking at a press conference in Moscow on Friday ahead of the 2018 World Cup final, Federation Internationale de Football Association president Gianni Infantino revealed that the World Cup could be expanded and talks are planned.

"It has been the best World Cup in history because football has been the main talking point, with only one match finishing 0-0", he admitted.

The activations in Moscow coincide with Qatar's official observation programme, where employees have been tasked with gathering knowledge in preparation for Qatar's tournament, which will kick off on 21 November 2022.

The World Cup has traditionally been held during the months of May-July, with the majority of competitions taking place in June.
