USA actor Brad Pitt has rebutted claims made by his estranged wife Angelina Jolie that he has failed to support their children.

Following Tuesday's filing, a spokesperson for Jolie told People the actress' latest court filing asking for Pitt to pay more child support "is to provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children".

In his response, filed on Wednesday, Spiegel dismisses Jolie's motion as "unnecessary", branding it "a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage", reports TMZ.com.

Pitt's attorneys said in documents they filed for him that Jolie Pitt's lawyers have made no mention that she had any problems with the amounts he has given her for the children. Pitt's lawyers claim he loaned Angelina $8 million for the house she bought, plus gave her another $1.3 million for expenses for her and the kids.

A source went on to claim to UsWeekly that Jolie, who is now filming Maleficent 2 in London, had been forced to return to work making movies in order to cover the costs associated with raising her children.

Currently, it is only possible if the fetus is deformed, the woman has been raped or if the woman's life is in danger. Opponents of abortion meanwhile held their own demonstrations. "It's possible that we propose that", he said.

"What has been filed by Brad's side today is a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children", attorney Samantha Bley DeJean said in a statement.

If you've been keeping up with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's legal war (and we'd understand if you're a little lost since it's been dragging for what feels like forrrrever), then you'll know we've seen some major new developments this month.

Another thing the filing claims is that on August 6, Angelina asked Brad and his team to wait (a week) to take action on any new filings but on August 7, she reportedly tried to make it seem like she had the complaints first by taking action herself. Jolie Pitt now has primary custody of their children.

"Brad has completely lived up to his commitments as far as child support and will continue to do so", the source added.

And according to UsWeekly, a major reason for the bitter battle is Jolie's holdup is resentment towards her third husband.
