You see, with more than 150 million users and almost 20 million daily users, Discord has become a huge threat for Steam, a go-to platform for games for many.

With over 150 million users, Discord is the world's largest gaming chat platform. They're literally first on Discord - usually 90 days and then the developers can sell anywhere else they want.

In an attempt to compete with the likes of Steam and, massively popular VoIP app Discord plans to open a game store.

Swinging things back to Discord, those of you participating in the beta will be able to get your hands on an upgraded version of the service's monthly subscription service, Discord Nitro. Publishers such as THQ, Raw Fury, Deep Silver, and others already jumped aboard to offer their titles on the store!

There are no "First on Discord" games yet, but Nitro subscribers can pick up Saints Row: The Third, Metro: Last Light Redux, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, De Blob, Tormentor X Punisher, Dandara, Kathy Rain, GoNNER, Kingdom: New Lands, System Shock Enhanced Edition, and Super Meat Boy for free.

Crystal Palace To Sign Jordan Ayew On Deadline Day
Prior to his loan move, Ayew refused to train for the first-team in the hope of forcing through an exit from the Liberty Stadium. Ayew said Palace manager Roy Hodgson had told him that he intends to use him up-front but he doesn't really mind where he plays.

Moreover, only 50,000 randomly chosen Discord users in Canada will be able to access the store in its "beta" period.

Finally, Discord's greatest strength lies in its cross-platform ubiquity, and another new feature takes advantage of it. Discord home screen is getting yet another new tab dubbed Universal Library. To do that, Discord will simply boot the other launcher and game. The Discord Nitro subscription service will cost $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually.

The company wants to build a quality list of available games, and is even planning on having timed exclusives.

Steam also made headlines this week as it was revealed that upcoming Fallout 76 will not be released on Steam, and Bethesda is opting instead to release the game via its own distribution service. Of course, we think the games are really cool too! "This beta won't have any First on Discord titles, but we'll be showing off some soon", the company said. "That's how we fit in differently than other stores out there, ours is driven more by friendships and playing together than what is now available in the ecosystem". "Eros further added that" "We hope to slowly expand the beta to test different markets, currencies, prior to full launch later this year".
