Emery is convinced the Gabon worldwide can win the Premier League's Golden Boot this season.

It was a baptism of fire for new Arsenal manager Unai Emery, who was left in no uncertain terms about the gulf in quality between his resources and those Guardiola is able to call on.

For Emery, the message to Arsenal supporters is that they must not be fretful.

Manchester City are the biggest challenge of Emery's fresh injection of ideas and a platform where they can execute them and show their stand with a win. City's left-back missed nearly the entirety of last season through injury, and his overlapping will bring an extra dimension to City's attacking play.

City, meanwhile, only managed to bring Algeria worldwide Riyad Mahrez in the transfer window, while the likes of Yaya Toure and Joe Hart have left.

It's a new dawn at Arsenal!

From the moment the 2018-19 Premier League fixture list was released in June, it was clear Arsenal would be starting their campaign with a thoroughly hard test. The Welsh midfielder is expected to return to the side after he resumed training but may not be 100% fit to play 90 minutes.

Arsenal finished sixth last season as they completed their campaign in dismal fashion.

Emery has clearly placed a big emphasis upon playing out from defence, but goalkeeper Petr Cech - slightly surprisingly preferred over newcomer Bernd Leno - looked consistently nervous at goal kicks, at one point hopelessly scuffing a simple pass backwards, nearly into his own net. Against City, he is expected to go with the latter in a bid to accommodate and get the best out of Mesut Ozil.

Unai Emery's appointment as the new Arsenal manager has sparked quite a lot of debates and discussions - some revelling in his three consecutive UEFA Europa League triumphs with Sevilla while many pointing out his underwhelming stint at Paris Saint-Germain.

Pep Guardiola does not have too much of a worry with many players participating in the World Cup.

On Friday, he said the country had to take steps in answer "to those who have waged an economic war against us". Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan talks to media in the Black Sea city of Ordu, Turkey August 11, 2018.

He'll be joining a strong attacking force that already includes the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero.

Manchester City's record signing, Riyad Mahrez could make his his debut for the club against Arsenal.

Whereas last season Guardiola used advanced wingers stretching the play and going in behind, often with more conservative full-backs, here his approach was different.

If it's a 4-3-3 Ozil will play from the right, although won't relish the prospect of tracking back with Benjamin Mendy.

Koscielny, now out with an ankle injury, captained the side in place of Per Mertesacker last season.

The last two matches between the Gunners and the Citizens have ended in a six-goal aggregate win for Guardiola's City.

The Armenian worldwide will likely get a start today as Unai Emery will need his players to feed Aubameyang crosses in the match.

The Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City will be broadcast live on NBCSN.

Arsenal have received six red cards on opening day games, most by any side. It included two Premier League fixtures and a League Cup final.

Emery has set Aubameyang the target of doing what he did in the Bundesliga previous year, when he scored 31 goals to become the division's top scorer. "I'm not rigid to stick to one formation or way of playing".
