One piece of the summer transfer puzzle is finally solved, as Chelsea FC has confirmed the sale of Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid, while Mateo Kovačić will go to the Premier League club as part of the deal, reports Goal.hr on August 8, 2018.

Real Madrid signed Courtois from Chelsea yesterday with Mateo Kovacic going the other way on a season-long loan.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is eligible to play against Huddersfield on Saturday after completing his record move to Chelsea.

The Basque club confirmed the 23-year-old's release clause has been activated and his contract terminated, although there is no mention of Chelsea.

Madrid's starting goalkeeper has been Keylor Navas, who helped the club win the last three Champions League titles.

Director Marina Granovskaia added: "Kepa is a talent we have admired for a long time and we are extremely excited about his arrival".

Sandro, who saw a £60m move to Chelsea fall through last summer, is expected to leave the Allianz Stadium.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri had expressed his desire to bring in another midfielder, despite the recent signing of Jorginho from Napoli.

In January, he signed a new long-term contract with Bilbao until 2025, amid interest from Real Madrid.

Kepa made his global debut for Spain in November, keeping a clean sheet in a friendly win over Costa Rica, and was named to the Spain squad for the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer, though he didn't play.
