Mayo Clinic in Rochester Ranked #1 Hospital In State & Nation

Johns Hopkins remains the nation's third best hospital, according to annual rankings by U.S. News Cleveland hospitals make their mark in latest US News & World Report rankings

Cleveland Clinic Florida has reclaimed U.S. News and World Report's distinction as South Florida's Best Hospital.

But this year, another Boston institution made the top 20.

The Mayo Clinic has once again topped a list of the nation's best hospitals.

Mayo Clinic serves over 1.3 million patients from all 50 states and about 140 countries worldwide.

It ranked in the top two for seven of the 16 specialties ranked by U.S. News statewide, and was first in nephrology, orthopedics and urology.

The rankings, which analyze more than 5,000 medical centers and survey responses from more than 30,000 physicians, also recognized Clearwaters Morton Plant Hospital (eighth-best hospital in the state) and Tampas St. Josephs Hospital (No. 13).

The rankings compared more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions.

U.S. News released its 2018-19 rankings of children's hospitals in June.

University Hospitals was ranked second in OH, with 10 nationally ranked specialties.

It was also ranked as high-performing in nine common conditions and procedures, including abdominal aortic aneurysm fix, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hip replacement, knee replacement, and lung cancer surgery.
