A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Denver International Airport and the surrounding parts of Adams County until 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Just before 2 p.m. Environment Canada upgraded a thunderstorm watch, as they are "tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain". Some hail is possible as well.
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
