Phil Thompson thinks Marcus Rashford's lack of game time at Man Utd is because of Jose Mourinho's lac

"If I watch Mr Raiola [Pogba's agent Mino Raiola] on the screen saying the player wants to leave, and that he is organising a way for him to try to leave or so on, then I will believe [it]", Mourinho told United Kingdom newspapers.
The United manager was forced to discuss his relationship with the club's record signing once again after a week in which Pogba heightened the uncertainty over his future on worldwide duty.
Jose Mourinho may have drawn attention to himself in Friday's news conference with his Marcus Rashford rant, but his behaviour certainly did not appear to have any negative impact on the pitch. And I told the players at half-time - sometimes I am sorry we don't have a camera in the dressing room because I told them what exactly happened - that it could be a match to win four or five nil, or to be in real trouble.
Rashford made more appearances than any other outfield player at United last season, as Mourinho likes to point out, but they were mostly from the bench.
Mourinho's research included two small errors: Rashford played the equivalent of 34.1 90-minute matches in 2016-17 for an average of 63.8 full games - and it overlooked how the player has had a longer wait between starts since Alexis Sanchez's arrival from Arsenal in January.
Watford had won their four previous league games of the season heading into this clash - but even in defeat manager Javi Gracia felt his players showed their class. "I think he is the image of the team".
Gareth Southgate believes Marcus Rashford can emulate Cristiano Ronaldo and become a talisman for the national team.
Mourinho says he felt the need to read off numbers because the media doesn't paint a fair picture of Rashford's role within the squad. "I think I can expect that Sunday I'm going to be highly criticized for not playing him", Mourinho said, knowing that Rashford is suspended this weekend due to his sending off last time out, "because some of the boys are really obsessed with me and some of them have a problem with some compulsive lies".
"Since I was here, he was never one day out for selection because of my decision, only if injured or suspended". He'll never be United's most popular player, but he can still be one of their most useful.
He added: "I think when you are on top and you are 2-0 up, there is always that danger when they get that goal but I think we were worth the third goal".
Mourinho also said Luke Shaw is free to face Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday after recovering from a head injury but is set to wait before deciding whether the defender will play.
'I see Man United coming here and causing an upset, ' Ferdinand said in the build-up to the late kick-off.
