Earlier, Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted that a video where a youth is seen severely beating a woman has come to his notice. The cases against the accused have been registered on the basis of the statement given by two women, the police said.

With the higher than average number of mosquitos this season (http://vectorbio.rutgers.edu/reports/mosquito/) and a 40 percent increase in WNV positive mosquitoes (http://www.nj.gov/health/cd/statistics/arboviral-stats/) compared to 2017, livestock owners are strongly encouraged to vaccinate against WNV, EEE and other mosquito-borne diseases. Health officials emphasize the importance of people taking precautions as suggested by the CDC to keep mosquitoes from biting.

Wear mosquito repellent when you go outside. Remember mosquitoes can bite during the day and night.

Mosquito-proofing your home by fixing holes in screens, windows, and doors. Fix or replace screens with tears or holes. Steps should also be taken to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, usually found in standing water.

The Washoe County Health District's Communicable Disease Program investigates all reported cases of diseases such as WNV. Residents who experience symptoms are advised to visit their healthcare providers. Such symptoms include, but are not limited to: fever, headache, body ache, fatigue, nausea, and rash. They can include muscle weakness, stiff neck, disorientation, tremors, convulsions, paralysis and coma.
