The jackpot for Mega Millions has jumped to $654 million, with a cash option of $372.6 million, after no one won in Friday night's drawing.
The next drawing is Tuesday, Oct. 16 - and there's a chance the total could inch into a Mega Millions record.
It costs $2 to play the game, but the odds of instant wealth aren't good. A victor who opted for a cash payout would receive $309 million, minus taxes. The current Powerball jackpot has ballooned to $314 million.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot topped out at $656 million in 2012, followed by $648 million a year later.
