So he stuck at this old football malarkey, and on Friday was handed his first start for the Mariners in yet another trial match, against a team named Macarthur South West United.

Witnessed by more than 6,000 people at the stadium, Bolt broke into his trademark celebration move after the first goal.

"My first start and scoring two goals, it's a good feeling", Bolt told Fox Sports television.

After a relatively quiet first half, Bolt came alive in the 57th minute when he showed his pace and strength to outmuscle a defender and buried a left foot strike past Eze Consoni.

In his maiden start for the Mariners, the Olympic legend looked nervous early on and, by his own admission, panicked when his first goal scoring opportunity arrived in the opening minutes.

In their final game before competitive football returns in Australia, Central Coast smashed their amateur counterparts 4-0.

He converted with a neat left-footed finish and a tap-in during the second half after goals from Ross McCormack and Jordan Murray had put the visitors in control in Sydney.

Sweeney said that "Rosenfeld's alleged plot could have claimed the lives of innocent bystanders and caused untold destruction". It was taken to a "safe location" in the county, officials said.

McCormack added: "The best thing about Usain Bolt is he's so humble".

Bolt said he had a "lot more to learn" and was keen to join the Mariners on a professional contract.

The debut, to be honest, didn't go well, and will be better remembered for Bolt missing a very good chance and having the touch of a man who is running around in square shoes.

The Jamaican then capitalised on a defensive mix-up - the defender and the goalkeeper ran into each other - to roll the ball into an empty...

"He fits in very well and he has made enormous improvements".

"He is a sportsman and he has a lot of abilities that are important to be successful in football, too".
