A week after the disappearance of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, details about what happened to him at the Saudi consulate are beginning to emerge, along with indications that the USA had information of a Saudi plot against him.

Boot told Lemon, "If these reports are accurate, they lured (Khashoggi) into their consulate in Istanbul on the soil of a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation country and killed and dismembered him". I don't know how I can keep living if he was abducted or killed in Turkey.

Protestors hold portraits of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi outside Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Turkish media outlets, as well as The Post, published photos and a video of an alleged Saudi "assassination squad" that traveled to Turkey last week and was at the Saudi Consulate at the same time that Mr. Khashoggi visited the diplomatic post. Saudi Arabia has sent a team of investigators to work with Turkish authorities and "chase every lead to uncover the truth behind his disappearance". It was only the that it was officially confirmed that al-Zamel had been in jail for the past year.

The planes belonged to a company based in Saudi Arabia which has links to the state.

Whether this refers to the new General Directorate for Investigation as part of new Saudi state security departments created previous year is unclear.

"If it turns out that suspicions of Saudi involvement in the murder of this journalist are true", Kaine said, "it could be a real sea-change in the relationship between the USA and Saudi Arabia that could affect many things, including US support for what Saudi Arabia is doing in Yemen". Brent crude prices are now hovering around US$86 a barrel and global traders are betting that they will go past US$100.

He had already applied to become a United States citizen, according to an op-ed in the Post by his Turkish fiancee Hatice Cengiz, who was waiting for him outside the consulate on 2 October when he disappeared.

Rachel Osten of the Hubble team confirmed that something is wrong with the telescope's gyroscopes, which it uses for orientation. Gyroscopes are needed to keep the 340-mile-high (540-kilometer-high) Hubble pointed in the right direction during observations.

Groups of men thought to be Saudi are seen entering Turkey via Istanbul airport, checking in at hotels and later leaving the country. Turkish officials have said that they fear the team killed Khashoggi.

Meanwhile, Turkish television channels have run CCTV footage, which they say shows the 15 alleged Saudi officers during their time in Istanbul. Both aircraft later returned to Riyadh with one stopping in Dubai and the other in Egypt, it was claimed.

More than a week has passed since Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi has vanished since visiting the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul. A senior Turkish official told the Times that they think Khashoggi was killed within two hours of entering the consulate, and that a team of Saudi agents then destroyed his body.

Khashoggi had been living in self-imposed exile in the U.S. for the past year.

The Saudi regime denies this. "But as I said yesterday, the free world deserves answers".

"This is a bad situation", Trump told reporters, adding that he would like to invite Khashoggi's fiancee to the White House. The two soon agreed to marry, but in order to do so he needed to finalise his divorce with his first wife in Saudi Arabia. She acknowledged the writer first visited the consulate on September 28 "despite being somewhat concerned that he could be in danger". The footage shows Khashoggi entering the consulate on October 2.

Hatice Cengiz spent 11 hours waiting for the journalist after he went into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to obtain paperwork for their marriage.

That same day, President Trump was asked about Khashoggi's disappearance and didn't have much to say apart from "I am concerned about it".
